No kidding; put it this way, don't use Al as that will be a detriment if you're looking to gain part of the performance market.

Same thing; a sketchup is software specific, while a 3D model is the general term.

Supra55 said make a model not a (computer) 3d model, so I thought he meant a model made of wood or plastic

I know I'm splitting hairs but I like to do that

Wouldn't that be a prototype then? I second that we need to see some prototypes so we can see if these blocks will match our case decor.

In design work a model usually refers to 3D CAD and a physical representation would be a scale model (1:1 is a full scale model); if it's a test unit then it's a prototype.

Ok, make a sketchup for the benefit of yourself and all of us, then make a wood or acrlyic model so we can see a more accurate interpretation of your idea.

But what if he uses a different CAD package or solids modeling program? I can't make a Sketchup with Pro/E or Solidworks.

    Back on topic:
Yeah; make a (3D) model and if possible a nice scale model or prototype so we can see what you have in mind.

I would buy them if they were copper, looked good, and had good performance. Please let us know when this is a possibility. And defintially send one for review to bit-tech.

    whoa wait a effing minute

koolance rads are aluminum? yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.....yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! finally! haha an all aluminum loop. There is a god! will be buying one kind soon hopefully :D

and 1000 at 5$ cost would be an initial investment of 5,000$ not including mounting, et cetera. If you don't have cnc,(converted mini mill works fine), then cost of manual labor would be insane!
but copper can be had for not crazy expensive. Id start out doing 10 or so, see how they perform.

There is a $20 block on the market, the older D-Tek Whitewater. However it has an aluminum top and doesn't come with a universal mounting plate.

And aluminum is garbage compared to copper when it comes to watercooling.
Unless you're doing all of the work yourself with equipment you have free access do I don't really see any way it would be possible to produce a block at such a price point. The smallest base you could possibly make and still have it sealed with an o-ring would be 2" x 2" x 3/16".

Nah, 2x2x1/8", o-ring captive in the top instead of the base.

Agree perfectly on the other points though.

And BTW, still nobody will make my design for less than a few hundred...
