the graphics card is weak, I'd go for a HD 6850 or a 6870 as a decent budget mid range card. On Ebuyer the other week they had a 6850 for £99 in the sale
are you going to overclock?? if not just get a standard i5 2500... and invest the extra $$ into a better GPU such as a HD 6850 or 6870
Well I would get the 2500k, all day long. Even if your not overclocking yet, at least you have the option. How much will the non k save you when you can unlock an extra 1 ghz + on a tranquillo easily
That is true.... but looking at the current generation of RPG games, i would say that they arnt particularly taxing on the cpu so the $$ would be better invested in a GPU. But yes the 2500k is a brilliant chip for the money
Get a better P67 board, it's clear you won't be using any of the extra Z68 features and at the bottom end of the Z68 scale, that is a lacklustre board. I'd say get: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...DDR3+PCI-Express+Motherboard+?productId=44074
I did all this at Scan which is why I stuck with a Z68, they have almost no P67's which would be better suited and are generally cheaper. I've changed the case to a slightly cheaper Coolermaster model (they're basically the same inside), the memory is down from 8GB to 4GB as in day to day use there's a good chance you won't ever need it. The Gelid Solutions heatsink has been replaced with the Intel version even at stock it's going to blisteringly fast and stays relatively cool and quiet. Oh and the DVD drive is a Samsung rather than a Sony. You now have a 1GB GTX 560 ti all for £3 more than your original price and more headroom to upgrade things like memory and cpu coolers when you need to or when you have more free cash. Get twenty posts here and you get free shipping too.
And remember if you are a student then you can get cheaper copies of Windows from softwareforstudents.
The case should actually be £48.00. The main reason for choosing the z68 board was that there may be a gap between building the main components and obtaining the graphics card. I was going to run with integrated graphics for a short time but looking at the MSI board. I might have to think again. Thanks
My friends playing skyrim on ultra settings with a 6870, that's probably plenty, could free up £30 of budget by dropping down from the 560ti to the 6870.
