Are we getting an update, or just slagging off Gordon Ramsay and discussing the assault by penetration (because my old law lecturer told me "It's not rape if you use a cricket bat" - I wish I was kidding) of the manager?
id personally hold him to ransom over it, keep a note of what he did and when and write up a full letter of complaint and next time he complains about you beeing late too often or taking too many sick days, show him i actually went through something worryingly similar, the problem is if you report it best you get is a "sorry" and a new knob of a boss this way you run the store alternately you could take them to court if your willing to go that far
I read this while back.. but the comments imo are little over the top if he did it in a malicious way then you might want to use burnout's advice and substitute the broom with a breakfast burrito.. used to work in a shop where this sort of thing was the norm- even used to catch big roaches in a business card box, stick em by the secretaries desk upside down the peeps who can't take a joke usually don't last very long.. not saying don't work hard, but keep it fun if he's a *****, then probably everyone around knows this already- it won't be some big secret revelation.. a good revenge trick is to get a bunch of superglue into a nice squeeze tube and when he's bending over, shove it down and superglue his buttcheeks together
I must admit i did laugh, but yeah he does have a warped sense of humour and you said you're not mates or anything. You have to be careful next he'll be spreading it around that your a peodophile as a joke. He's probably on a power trip thinking he's the big man, i bet he was bullied at school.
Mate if the cops had you doing a crime do you really think they would be at McDonalds waiting for you to turn up for a part time shift lol. Just tell em "Don't sh*t were you eat and hang up. If this manager bothers you while you work keep a log of everything he says time and dates I've seen this screw people over. 1 time complaints never go anyware but a shock of someone keeping a log of his actions will make him re-think.
wow this post is still active? rofl. Well the place he said it had happened was basically very close to the place.
It's the kind of joke that's very funny between close, mutual friends and grossly inappropriate and abusive when used by a superior towards a subordinate, because there's an implicit ego trip of abuse in the fact that you're obliged to take what he says at face value and aren't at liberty to retort in any way for fear of reprisal. Reminded strongly of: I hate people who do that, use "haha, just kidding!" to get away with being total arseholes.
I do stuff like that with my mates all the time, but rape? That's just a bit too far, and for several minutes, that's harassment to say the least... I'd report his ass all the way up the McDonalds hierarchy
Oh dearie me... Ronald wouldn't like this at all. I've been working for McDonald's since 2006, and there are a fair few managers that we all know like to have a joke with the rest of us. After all, most of them aren't much older than me and one in particular used to be my best friend during Primary School. Most new managers go through power/ego trips and everyone else hates them for it. I've had a fair few pranks played on me in my time there, but something as bad as that, I don't think I could let slide. I mean, it's been said throughout this thread, but rumours can be started and reputations can be damaged, and they stick for as long as people want to remember them. My advice to you, even though it's been a while now, is to let him know how much of a knob he's been and threaten to report him if he continues. If he's finding it funny, then get him to admit it in front of other people, then you'll hopefully have them on your side.
Well I just found out today that he's leaving next week, so I'm never seeing him again anyways. I was telling a mate/manager today about it and he was disgusted by it also. But yeah, it's no concern any more
There's no way you should have to take that. You didn't ask for it, you were offended > completely unprofessional!! If you still feel weird about it you should speak to someone higher up in writing. However if you have a mean streak in you... it's your turn.
Really pleased that its resolved for you ----- but this guys a complete arse thats gonna do the same thing again. TBH the best way to handle this is somehow get evidence - then follow it up with an official complaint. After all if this had resulted in the victim (ie you reacting by punching his lights out - and the applause would be loud as hell) the manager would then accuse victim of assault & the malicious phone call would be denied. Seen this kind of workplace idiot too often & it went way beyond mucking around. It had zero to do with macho antics and just crosssed a line.
wow 3 pages of responses to answer what is really a simple question. Think back to your first day at work, remember those lame ass videos they made you watch? Yeah......
