After reading Bindi's thread http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=202409 i was spurred into action to buy the memory for my SB build. So i went on scan and found this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-...0-(1600)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-150v and it looks great value for money at the lower 1.50v. Will this be compatible and effective for my SB build or should i spend an extra £15-20 on Vengeance RAM?
That has only just been put on their website in the last couple of hours, it wasn't there when I looked earlier. Yes it will be fine for Sandy Bridge, grab it before it goes up. The only thing it doesn't appear to have is an XMP profile.
Damn i'm getting a p8p67. Would i be better of with the Vengeance for £50. This memory pops up on the website every so often so i thought it would be good to buy now before it dissapears for another week or so. Thanks.
Very true. Maybe this RAM instead: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-...600)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-165v. Only a couple of pound more. The Vengance would be fine also but watch for clearance issues between the RAM heatsinks and whatever CPU cooler you use.
I'd be using either the Gelid Tranquillo or Coolermaster Hyper 212 (this is turning into a build advice thread.... ). Would i be okay with a 1.65v rated memory or would it be better to get a 1.50v memory?
Cheers. Will get this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-...600)-non-ecc-unbuffered-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-165v instead.
