Memory Is this RAM ok?

    Read your motherboard's manual, it will detail what memory it supports.

    Is there any particular reason why you want 2000Mhz rated RAM though?

    2000MHz? You'll be lucky to run it at that speed quite frankly. The most recent Phenom II X6s can, but you need a good chip still. The board supports 8GB of memory though, but memory performance is entirely down to the CPU quality/volts/overclocking stability.

    Board blurb says up to 2000+ MhZ.. Room to breathe for OC?

    Yea motherboard does, but it's on condition the CPU and its memory controller can handle it ;)

    RE: 2nd link, yea it'll most likely be fine. Check the Gigabyte website and get the latest BIOS just to be sure. Stick it on USB stick, go into the BIOS, hit F8 (iirc - or whatever says Q-Flash) and then update it from USB stick.
