As long as it is Momentary-On and your computer is of the ATX/(later) specification then it is alright.

Only a few millamps actually flow through the on/off -- it is more of a logic signal.

Yea that should be fine, as long as you know how to wire it up.

I won't know that until I get the switch. I think pin 1 and 2 go to the power switch header on the mobo and pin 3 goes to ground somewhere.

Usually a switch like that (if it's a SPST switch) it'll have 4-6 terminals.
2 of them will be for the momentary switch (sometimes 3 if you have an option for momentary interrupt) than usually 2 more for the LED indicator, sometimes 3 if it's a dual color LED (which I 've encountered rarely) but this allows you to wire the power and HDD indicators to the same LED, it would be normally green when powered and when HDD is activated it would blink red.

Either way when you get the switch and have any questions...let us know.

I'd advise checking (with a multimeter) which pair were which but the smaller connections are most probably the led connections (with +-), the larger connections are to the switch.... as I said I'd check though

You'll also need a LED resistor, 91 or 100 ohms for 5V, 470 ohms for 12V, if you run the power LED from a molex supply, or you can connect the LED terminals to the mobo's Power LED header if you have a suitable connector.

Resistance (lowest range), or Continuity Test if available.
