Very broadly speaking, I'm sympathetic to the Israeli cause, but as ever in life, there are extremist religious people trying their hardest to p*ss you off.
Perhaps he has a point, vaguely speaking... Extremist pisses off gays, gays retalliate, extremists starts and lead a riot, riot causes vibrations in the earth which in turn causes the tetonic plates to slip....
What is it with extremists and gays? Latent homosexuals on a reaction formation trip, the lot of them.
I know, I know, seems a bit simplistic. But you have to wonder. Extremists have a real preoccupation with: - women - sexuality Let's face it, the human race is female. Men are basically built on a female template; this is why men have defunct nipples, and an un-matched Y chromosome. Testosterone mutates them to develop into a male in the womb. Theoretically, women have the full reproductive, child-bearing, child-rearing set. Men are basically just fighting, ***ing machines. We compete, we impregnate, end of role, really. We are simply a natural selective mechanism (on the criterium of physical strength/toughness) constrained to a separate gender, so that the more valuable reproducing members are not put at unnecessary risk of competitive injury (female selective pressures are around reproductive fitness. Hence male preoccupation with tits and ass). The result is that men are a bit at the mercy of their dick. We may have physical power over women, but they have sexual power over us. We see a pair of tits and our brain goes gaga. Fundamentalists don't like that. they are arrested at the pre-teen boy level: they worship power, authority and physical strength, and they don't like being confronted with their emotional weaknesses. They fear the sexual power women have over them, so they try to dominate them and make them cover up. They don't like anything to do with sensuality or sexuality --way too threatening to their immature boy-ego. So they don't like homosexuality either; it is a real threat because it is about sex and feelings, but also because even a heterosexual hormone-driven young male in almost exclusive male company may develop some confusing feelings... For fundamentalists, sex is about power. It is a weapon, a bargaining tool, even a marriage dowry. It is not about love, because fundamentalists don't do love.
An Israeli MP has blamed parliament's tolerance of gays for earthquakes that have rocked the Holy Land recently. Shlomo Benizri, of the ultra-Orthodox Jewish Shas Party, said the tremors had been caused by lawmaking that gave "legitimacy to sodomy". Ahh, of course. It makes perfect sense. Jeez - You're right! I mean... exactly how far away from the San Andreas Fault is San Francisco?? I don't believe in coincidences *that* big... huh. All we need is another Pink Flamingo bar to open and we are looking at armageddon on the west coast.
Well, I guess it makes a change from killing palestinians. Everyone needs a secondary group to hate. Just in case murdering and bombing the first group gets boring.
