    Easily.

But what brand and model is it? A Bad 500W PSU might not be able to put out more than 300W.

You'll probably need more, if you want to push the CPU up alot. And i'd get a good Brand name PSU to match, at least 650w i'd say

A full system spec would be useful to know, as you might be ok if you're only running the bare minimum of kit, however if you have 5 hard drives and a whole host of case fans, pci cards etc then you'll be pushing it. That does all depend on the quality of the 550W psu.

I found the guide on here to graphics cards is good as it gives you the peak power seen when running the bare minimum set of components, so you can see if you're pushing the limit at stock speeds or whether you have Watts to spare.

Have you checked to see that it has the right 6 pin and 8 pin pci-e connectors? If not then that's a pretty good indication it's not up to the job!

A photo of the data sticker on the side of the psu will soon tell us whether it's good enough or not, try to get one of those (the sticker with all the voltages and amperages listed) and we'll give you a definitive answer.

That system will NOT pulling 480W under load...as for the OP's system, get a new power supply, that seems to be a no-name box that won't support the card.

Unless my Kill A Watt product is defective it is 480W to be more specific it's 476W.

Why spend tons of money on the graphics card, but then short change it on the power supply side?

It's like putting crappy regular gas in a Ferrari.

Stick a crowbar in that wallet and go with a solid, known good, name brand, beefy power supply.

It's the foundation of your system, and you want a solid foundation.

The bad part is down the road, if you start having intermittent problems, you'll always wonder if it's that cheap power supply or not.

Yes ......I understand.A few days before while i was playing a game i felt a strange smell of burn coming from the case. Now it is working fine ,but i think the source was causing that smell,so i will buy a new one next days.

Any advice from you will be great.Thank you.

P.S:Do you think that the cause of that strange smell maybe afected the graphic card or any part of the sistem?
