It's well worth it, a really nice remake of a real classic. Go for it! I'm hoping darkest dungeon will be on a 50% off deal, maybe in a flash sale. Also This War of Mine looks good for it's current half price. There goes my "no more games until I finish the Wild Hunt" idea...!
Tell me about it! This War of Mine was on sale through gog.com yesterday. I'd imagine it'll be discounted again towards the tail end of their sale.
Four so far, Metro (it counts as one!), Fez, Wolfenstein: The New Order and Return to Castle Wolfenstein (to play it for the fifth or sixth time). I avoided Homeworld, Witcher and Grey Goo on the grounds that I'd like to see the outdoors sometime this year.
Yes, you already have that game. Speaking of which, this Steam Sale is turning into a bit of a damp squib. I've either got and played everything or it's all Early Access Trash and Indy concept titles, or it's not discounted at all. Saving me a surprising amount of money this year. Metro 2033: Redux is flipping fantastic though.
was looking to get 2 games in the sale... Both were massively increased in price before going 'on sale' back to the original price ( or there abouts ) GTA V and Warthunder... i know warthunder is free to play, but i was planning on getting a pack of premium goodies that was price hiked and then put 'on sale'
D'oh Did see it pop up in the daily deals, and think you were gonna be upset Its on of the most annoying things about the way Steam (and GOG for that matter) structure their sales - general "discount" on most items, with daily extra "discount". I suspect a lot of people are caught out and buy it on first discount... I'd rather they ring-fenced the games they wanted to daily deals on, and just applied the general discount to other titles. That way you know when its discounted it, its the cheapest it'll be during the sale period...
I'll just link to this again: https://steamdb.info/sales/ Check that site to see just how good of a deal you're getting on any title in particular.
Thanks, saw the link last time. Not sure how it applies to my post though? Can it predict the future?
Thats what I use for deciding whether to buy a game or not and it hasn't let me down yet. Obviously it's also worth checking other places too. I've saved a few £££ by checking GMG etc before buying.
Yup, that is the process I use also (unless I get caught up in the moment, and I buy something 'cos its there'...) Although, I don't check other outlets. For some reason I cant bring myself to use anyone other than Steam, GoG or Humble... just don't trust them...
No, but if there's some "sale price" that looks good and you check steamdb you could see that perhaps it was that same price at the winter sale or that they hiked up the "normal" price so your 50% off is more like 15% what the game was last week. Unrelated. Talos Principle is finally at a decent price. I'm going to get that today.
I have £10 on my steam account with The Talos Principle on my wish list, today it's £10.19 so I'm getting it.
