last time i saw snow was in april. doesnt snow here much, rarely drops below 0, acctually, rains a helluvalot tho.

most snow i've seen at one time round here was about 2' in '91. knocked out our power fro three days, there was a sheet of ice ontop of the snow, and cold and windy. was happy to have a woodstove in our place, i'll say that much.

it started snowing here about a week ago though it all melted away in a day or so... it was about -6 degrees Celcius when i got up yesterday... i reckon i'll start snowboarding again in the next month or so... i love the winter... sometimes we get 20-30cm of snow overnight right in the beginning of the winter... we get a nice surprise the next day... it gets down to -50ish degrees in lapland... Winter driving is so fun... you know when you get this mixture of the sand they put on the roads and slush fly up from the car in front of you and it covers your windshield, totally blocking your view... then if you're unlucky, you're out of windshield wiper fluid and you gotta clean the fooking thing manually till you reach the next gas station... i know cause it's happened to me

    Snow!

It snowed here too, Monday morning. Meg dragged me out of bed to take her to work before the sun was up, and everyone was driving rediculously slow. Took me over an hour to get about 15 blocks and back. Worse on the way home, though, because school was getting underway and there were kids in their cars they'd souped up over the summer now smashing into everything.

That's how it is here, though. First snow of the year people act as though they've never seen it before for the first half-hour, then suddenly remember and act over-confident and drive like complete idiots and run into everything.

It was rediculous. By the end of the day the police had reported over 100 accidents, and my city doesn't even have 100,000 people.

Its piling up now, though. We've got several inches on the ground, but the trucks have laid down a lot of sand and its pretty drivable. Didn't take long, and we're already into the swing of it and driving like pros again. Crazy.

Pikes Peak has been coated in the white stuff several times so far, but only lasts for a few days. It's snowing right now, actually. I'm sure the mountains will be nice and white in the morning.

Some oceanographers or whatever they are called, these guys that predict weather patterns based on the ocean or some stuff, are predicting an extremely white winter for us in Colorado this year. I hope so...this drought stuff sucks.

The bad thing about living here is all the military bases. There are 6 in the immediate area and that means a ton of yahoos that don't know how to drive in the snow. Every year I end up pushing idiots because they think they have to slam their gas pedal through the floor to get anywhere...or they drive at like 10 mph with less than an inch of snow on the ground.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

thats IT?! Back in 97 up here in eastern washington we had a icestorm that knocked power out of the city of Spokane for anywhere from 4 days to three weeks, depending on where you lived.

we had two small generators.... and we scalped one we bought for 190 bucks for a grand ROFL

Okay, that settles it, I want to move back to Colo. Springs. I lived on the AFA there for a while too, before moving into the city. One year someone repainted the chairs (as a practical joke) on the stadium to read "Air Farce"

People are moving out of California to Colorado because land and housing is 'so cheap' comparitively.

I'd be happy if I never saw snow again unless I went skiing.
