I just want to thank cpemma, acrimonius, zapwizard, and anyone else who has helped me out with my HDD/NIC flasher circuitry work. I've put all the parts on circuit board, soldered in all the trace leads and wires...I used solid core wire for the connections to the board, but will probably cut them short and solder/heatshrink on some more flexible stranded wire for the actual plugs...I managed to hook up and test half of the circuit and it worked...

What I mean by half is that the schematic that cpemma posted was layed out on a board twice...once for HDD and once for NIC activity...I hooked up the right side and it worked fine for NIC activity...The left side is the one I made a few booboo's on so I'm hoping it will work too...once I get everythign tested, I'll post pics...and if anyone wants (along with cpemma's permission to use his schematic with credit of course) I'll do up a guide which includes circuit board layout and how I am going to wire it up...along with a later project log on how I'm going to implement it into my case.

But I say again...thank you so much electronics gurus for your help and advice and support...This is truly a great community!

"My" circuit's essentially macroman's, but I showed discrete darlingtons instead of the octochip, so don't overlook the Modinator or you'll get some heavy scousers round your way. :hip: :worried:

The schottky diode is all mine...

Be worth trying with a 2N2222A or 2N3904 instead of the darlington, although there's a simpler circuit if you use a PNP 2N3906 for one of the legs. :geek:

Actually I guess I owe macroman a LOT of credit since he originally inspired me to do this in the first place...j00 roxors!

I must say it looks pretty sweet flashing on my desk...can't wait to see both sides workign at the same time :D
