I've decided it's time to give the install that I have of Vista 64 a proper go instead of just selecting to boot to XP every time I start my system but I'm getting a strange error with iTunes: I have tried uninstalling then re-installing to no avail and I can't seem to find anything about it on the interwebs (maybe I'm not searching right). ----- Ok, so I was still composing this post (so this isn't an edit) when I decided to try a different search via google and it turned up the Apple forums, which of course I should have checked first, which in turn points me to some drivers that are meant to get installed with iTunes but for some reason on 64-bit systems don't seem to. Drivers: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm Original source: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1202878&tstart=0 Installing these drivers has since cured my issue however I thought I would post the thread anyway as a reference point so that should anyone else on here have the same issue they should be able to find a resolution to the problem quickly and easily.
The lack if iT x64 support was honestly the reason I downgraded to Vista x86. You might notice this error upon launching iT, but did you try syncing an iPod? Because guess what, you get a nice little window stating that there is no support for the syncing of iPods on 64bit Vista! Garhrhr. IMO, use of my iPod Touch > crappy Vista x64.
