Hang on that, $1.99 *22 for a series (lets use series 2 as an example) giving us $43.78 and yet the box set of dvd's on amazon is $39.99. why oh why would I want to watch it on the teeny tiny screen at more expence.

Well indeed - that's certainly an issue. One "benefit" is you get to watch it NOW rather than wait for the box set.

Personally, I would like to see a scheme that rewarded regular download subscribers with the box set at the end of the season for no extra charge. A bit like the recent King Kong deal where you get a digital download copy AND the DVD.

You read it here first :D

Okay I can see the benifit if I had missed an episode and wanted a legal way of watching that one episode, but for the $1.99 I'de want a version I could watch on my standard tv. As to companies giving you the box set if you had downloaded all the episodes, I really can not see it happening. Why give it away for free when say 50% of your customers will buy the box set as well. I mean look at how TV series are currently released on dvd, for a series like stargate or friends, the company releases single DVD's throughout the time the series is airing at about £16 for 4 episodes, once the series has aired they release a box set of the entire series for about £60 quid about 2/3 the price of the individual disks, and then 6 months later they'll drop the price to £30 to catch all those other people would like the to buy it but who find that £60 is a bit much for a series (ie me). If a company is willing to release lots of indivual disks before the boxset, somebody must be buying them at the added cost, or it would not be worth while releasing them and having higher SKU counts in the company. In other words if their are enough people willing to buy your product at inflated prices already, why give them anything for free once they already have your cash. It would be nice but from what I've seen niceness doesnt appeal to shareholders, cash does.

Scrubs is a hilarious show (only one of the few unfortunatly here in the US) glad to see iTunes bringing it into the market.

So i can download it for free illegally, or download it legally and pay more than i'd pay for the box set? No tar.. Might as well download it off bit-torrent and buy the box set to replace the downloaded 'pirate' copies when its released in the shops.

Whats the quality like on these tv downloads, are they formatted for ipod screens or are they watchable on your pc / media centre etc? (the legal downloads that is :p)

They will be ipod h264. Some stupidly small resolution, which I think is 320x240 or 270p.

    WOW 320x240. It's 1985 all over again.

Dont get me wrong: digital distribution is a great idea but it needs to be for HDTV, or normal TV so I can watch it like a vodcast but on my TV. It'll be aired on ABC or C4 eventually over for free here so Im not gonna bother.

That's probably not even a high enough res to be able to see Turks' mole!

What's the point?! Other than being able to show off to your non-tech mates by having TV episodes on your 'music' player (which would result in 2 smacks to the head from me; one for being stupid enough to pay for a low-res video, and another for actually buying an iPod!)

I mean, my current phone/PDA has a 320x240 LCD, and I only even watched 1 video on it (old ep of Friends) before deciding that it's not worth the effort.
