I'm used to a dying on laptop with fans going 100%, so the noise doesn't bother me at the moment. Plus it being warm so I've got pedestal fans going all day and night! I read on Reddit that the noise is because you can't control the fan on the AIO but you can mod but sticking a wire in to a different header. Will do that eventually if the noise gets on my nerves...
whats the best way to work out what hard fittings i need to go from a pump/res to gpu block? trying to watercool in a dan c4 sfx case which i thought would be a breeze but i think my choice in a sfx-l psu has made it a bit awkward
If anyone cares lol I have a 2nd hand 2nd sff rig now as well as the main beast I've been building with all brand new... The SFF is a Silverstone Suga SG-13 with a Fractal 450w matx non modular psu, a Powercolor (NEVER AGAIN) RX 580 8GB that refuses to behave unless I underclock it -250mhz on the memory and limit it -50 to 96w on the powerlimit, an MSI b450m Gaming AC mitx mobo, 3500X, 16gb 2x8gb cheapy 2666mhz ram, 500gb Samsung m.2, some way too small heatsink with a loud 92mm fan on that still keeps it at 66c ish gaming, soon to replace the fan with a bequiet 18.6db 36cfm pwm fan and a 120mm bequiet case fan... I use it for emulation/older games whilst plugged into my 65" tv and browsing etc... I know it's not 'that small' but it looks awesome and I helped a mate out buying it as a whole after the gpu was giving him major ballache - Powercolor definitely live upto their shite reputation! For anyone interested it's one of these bad boys! It'll take a 270mm gpu or apparently a 280 if you cut a bit out inside the front section which you can't see from outside , a 120mm front fan or AIO or 140mm if you have a shorter gpu, a full size or matx psu, a pretty tall 61mm hsf, 2.5" drive etc etc.
SG13 is a Silverstone classic. It's a development of the OG ITX shoebox, the SG05. I'm still rocking one of each at home. As you said, the GPU length capacity is impressive, intakes cool air and no card sag. Cpu cooler height is a limitation, but there's plenty of good affordable low profile coolers out there.
Thanks man, I love it! I feel the other way regards to the cooler. the one I have is tiny and yet is a beast and I could EASILY fit a taller one, the manual states 61mm.

Yeah, third time lucky, mate. It was a smidge under £329 including customs fees which is, pretty much, exactly what I thought it would be. It's not even the most expensive 4060, surprisingly. I've sold my 3060 Ti and A2000 , so I'm "slumming it" with the 3090 for the next couple or three weeks. As usual, I have that heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach that one of the buyers will try to scam me. I get it every time I sell something on ebay - I really don't know why I put myself through it. Bah, I need the money - I have a sprog to try and fund through his degree now - what's a couple of stomach ulcers between friends?
If I wasn't in the same situation is have loved to buy the 3060Ti. My son who has met Byron as he was at Cardiff graduated and my daughter went off to drama college last week to train in Musical Theatre. Unlike a number of other courses, this one is funded by the student loan, but there's a top up fee... She will be working,which is appreciated but we are contributing somewhat, It's physically demanding, pretty much 8 to 5 5 days a week wall to wall dance,singing,acting. Not a typical degree with a few lectures and tutorials then living in the library. I'm still well behind the times in the ITX world with a triple fan 1080 crammed into a Dan Cases A4 SFX currently. I do have a GTX 1650 Aero ITX looking for a small case. Overtek have some of the lovely Densium 4 plus cases coming,which is tempting. That would require a 250W GAN unit from HDPlex as I really don't like Flex ATX power supplies. GLWS and the 4060LP. Is that going in your 4L case? Just read your SFFN post... Nice combo

So, it did turn up today, despite Amazon keeping me guessing: It's a smidge too long to fit in my ZS-A4DC, so I had to get a little creative and made it fit without having to mod anything. The alternate backplate for the ZS-A4DC, to accommodate a full height, short length card and G-Unique power in, can be fitted behind the front faceplate to add the vital three extra millimetres to make everything sweet: Ok, now I'm off to have a play. ttfn

Undervolting dropped the full load temp in Heaven by 8 degrees and reduced the fan speed from 90% to 74%, after an hour of looping. It's very well behaved, even before undervolting. You'd expect 90% speed to turn those tiny fans into screamers, but it really doesn't. Also, at 74%, they're pretty pleasant to live with - the noise profile is decent.
After a wee bit more tinkering with undervolting, peak power draw hit 87W after around 30 minutes of looping Heaven 4.0, compared to the 112W stock. A 25W reduction is ****ing impressive. I finally got around to fitting the third case fan, after stumbling across my one and only three-way fan splitter - I stopped looking for it about a month ago, but went straight to it when digging out the third case fan?!? - this dropped temps by another four degrees and dropped the fan speed down to 68%. I can barely hear it at idle, and it's seriously well-mannered when under gaming loads. The rig is pulling less than 140W during gaming, making the 250W GaN purchase feel even better. I haven't fired up anything too silly, like CP2077, yet but the 1440p gaming experience is pretty sweet, so far.
Pulled my GPU apart to work out what my options about how easy a GPU deshroud would be (Inno3d 4070 twin). First, I found that, to some extent, the plastic shroud was held on with clips, admittedly as well as screws - not a good start. Subsequently I found two fan headers, one for each of the two fans, which seemed pretty neat. However, one of them is fouled by the GPU cooler itself! Anyway, I've been shaking my head at that for long enough that I wanted to come and vent some frustration with it here! At least the GPU is pretty low-TDP.
