So going for a slight rebuilt and trying to decide on which case. I am looking for something small that will be sat in the bedroom. Wanted something that didnt look like a regular PC box.

Currently using a Antec P180 Mini:

    Right the machine will be

    ITX P55 Mobo
    i7-860
    6850 Video card
    2 x SSD
    1 x Full size optical
    Antec Modular PSU

Cooling is provided by an H50 on the CPU and a Accelero Hybrid for the GPU so any case has to allow me to mount 2 x 120mm RADs.

I have all of the above (just waiting on deliver of the ssds) and would like to minimise any further purchases.

I was thinking the BitFenix Prodigy with the drive cages out and one rad in the front and one in the back.

Any others out there that fit the bill?

Coolermaster Elite 120 /130 might work with some heavy modding..

    Regards,

I'd get the EVGA hadron myself. The Prodigy is kinda too big for ITX IMO.

Mind you the Hadron isn't cheap..

I did see the Hadron and I dont think I could justify the cost. Though ur name reminded me I was watching an auction for a Alienware x51 case with a the Brick PSU... might go check that out on the bay again.

Be careful with Alienware chassis. They have all sorts of daughter IO boards that need to talk with the hardware.

It doesn't come with a PSU so it's basically worthless dude. The Hadron isn't much more and comes with a PSU.

As I said be careful with the X51. I also heard that you can't use a regular ITX board in there as they have done something with the way the power switch connects..

At least the Aurora and Area 51 were mostly standard.

The Hadron Air is a lovely case, once it is all assembled and is sitting in a corner purring to itself. Like all ITX builds, it's a bit of a contortion exercise to get the components in (especially connecting cables and tower coolers), but it looks great and I can't stress how small the case is due to the PSU being of the in-built server profile type.

My only black marks against the case come in terms of cable management, but I've yet to see an ITX case that nails this aspect anyway.

Doesn't look like the Matx has a full size optical bay so maybe the mitx won't either.

Why would you want a full size optical bay?

Already have a bdr so didnt want to have to buy another slim line drive.

Wife regularly uses the optical drive for her stuff but might be able to twish her arm into thinking she doesnt need it.

You could otherwise slam the BD-R into an external caddy for when you need it?
