I'd agree with you on the Mk2 bit :)

You need to throw an S2000 drivetrain in there ;)

The 180 TT is a bit weedy on the power, but it's pretty light so you'll probably need a few tweaks to give you the edge. I saw something about tweaking them in this month's Japanese Performance magazine, I'll dig it out when I get home (unless you manage to snag yourself a copy in the meantime).

    Audi TT
    180 hp
    0-60 mph in seconds: 7.9
    Top track speed: 130 mph¹
EPA fuel economy estimates (mpg) (city/highway): 21/29²

Don't know about the CRX, Most sources say around 7.2 stock... If his is newer, he'll take you just due to wear and tear on your engine and tuning, make sure to change plugs/wires/belts etc before you try to brag him too hard. Gives you a better chance of woopin him.

Since the CRX is a 1991 model, it's pretty safe to assume the TT will be newer ! This is not necessarily a bad thing from Cool Chip's point of view as engines with more miles on them tend to go faster.
The major difference is that the TT will have most of its power lower down the rev range, being turbocharged, whereas with the VTEC you'll have to rag the nuts off it before the valve timing switches over.
A few mods on the CRX such as the intake/exhaust system would be a good start. Spoon parts are supposed to be pretty good.

He'll have to compete with turbo lag though twhich should give you a slight boost (pardon the pun) just make sure you rev the little bugger but don't spin the wheels.

The wait is the worst thing...

I went to see my car on a sunday (while seriously hung over) put the deposit down, I got cleared by the insurance on the Monday and a policy was drawn to start the next saturday...

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday dragged on so so slowly it was unbelievable... and typically just as we were about to leave on the saturday my father was called out for 2 hours on an emergency callout to some bint who'd busted her radiator..

Well i was gonna take my own piccys after a good clean polish, i do have a few snaps the nice bloke sent me b4 i went up 2 see the car. i can sort a few of them out.

btw lookin at the factory specs on the TT Quite poor takeing into consideration it runs a 1.8L lump with turbos (more than 1?) and only 180bhp :eyebrow:

would of thought they were faster than 8secs and go more than 130, bit shabby considering the look of the thing adn cost!

Type R civic would kill it any day

i'll sort pics out wheni get home

Unless it's been modded it's only a single Turbo, people confuse the 'TT' bit with 'Twin Turbo' when it really stands for 'Tourist Trophy'.

Hmm, TypeR - not surprised these would whoop a TT really, much lighter and overall better designed (look at the ones in the british touring car races too see that!)

Nice looking car mate. I've always fancied going for a CRX if I can ever tear myself away from Mini's. CRX is small and quick, just what I like - enjoy it :thumb:
