Ok so I am an AMD fan and really couldn't wait for Bulldozer to come out so I could update my current quad core AMD. They are taking forever to release them and gave me pause to consider Intel's offerings. An i7 2600k clocked to around 4.0-4.5 would certainly work for me. At any rate I have decided to slow down and just wait for the Ivy Bridge release. The tri-gate tech and 22nm are going to be sweet and suit me better than even the Sandy Bridge E, which will be on the lga 2011 x79 chipset I believe. I've heard that Ivy Bridge will be compatible with the lga 1155 mobo, but will it also fit the lga 2011 with x79? which should have more memory lanes etc. If so I'll go with lga 2011. Am I shopping for lga 1155? or lga 2011 to go with Ivy Bridge? Maybe lga 2011 is for Sandy bridge E and a later release of Ivy Bridge? which makes no sense right? as Ivy Bridge is the "tock" correct?
