I think outside of power savings, it won't do as much as we'd want it to.

Pretty impressive on the power consumption and especially iGPU side of things.

CPU performance increase looks in line with predictions - ie not worth upgrading from SB for unless you need the extra iGPU performance.

iGPU performance increase could be interesting on the laptop side. It may not be as quick as Llano gaming - although the Llano mobile iGPU is noticably slower than the desktop version whereas HD4000 shouldn't be, but you do get the advantage of a much faster processor.

One major advantage is that even entry level IB based laptops should be able to do light gaming - potentially helping the PC gaming landscape.

pretty much what i expected...slight gains in performance for 20% or so less power...

someone help me out here because i haven't kept up to date on the z68 boards...can the on die gpu be used in tandem with the discreet gpu? or is it still either or?

Either/or. Why would you want to use both? The on die one would hold a discrete back...

I'm interested in the OC'ing potential as at the moment, it looks like people who have them are getting 5.0ghz using between 1.15v - 1.325v, although I will wait till BT review them because atleast then I know roughly the voltage required.

Yup. The overclocking results will drive my decision to get one or not. If I can get more, for less volts then im happy.

was curious if we were at a point where some of the calculations could be passed to the on die gpu...not necessarily working in coop and therefore holding it back, but more like assisting it...

so if you are getting 31 fps with a 570 gtx, maybe it gives it an extra 3-4 fps or something

I would like to be able to carry out compute intensive tasks on a discrete GPU and carry on browsing and working using the igpu without either affecting the other. I never tried it with SB although I'm sure Lucid Virtu has an app/driver that let's you use both.

Not feeling so bad for passing on the SB 2500k now. May be time to pop out the 'ol i5-750 and think about a z68/3770k upgrade.

It wouldn't be that much of a gain to be honest, less than 1fps compared to a 570...
