i know this isn't really the best way but i drilled a hole, used a nibbler and sanded the circle smooth, doesn't matter much my fan grill covered it up

Still... if you want the cleanest, best looking results, definetely use a holesaw. You will be so pleased with your results, I guarantee it. :)

Assuming you are asking because you don't have/can't get/afford a holesaw, then I would think a combination of the two.
Jigsaw for the bulk of the work, then maybe the dremel for more detail work, than filing to finish. Just a guess. I picked up
a 92mm holesaw for US$39. More than I'd wanted to spend, but oh well. Now for the time to use them.

use the jigsaw to cut the hole out as i found that when i tried cuting a blowhole with a dremel the dremel could only do straight cuts so it was cutting otuside of the circle template.

Instead i used a jigsaw and then finished it off with the dremel de-burring attachments. Then you can get some blowhole rubber and it covers up your mistakes and makes it look better.

I have to agree though that using a holesaw if i could have afforded it would have been a lot quicker, easier and would have looked a lot better.

I wouldnt go for the hole saw as its quite expensive. Use a jagsaw, its the cheapest and most effective way.

Everyone as an oppinion, its just your preference :p

Cheaper is relative. I already own a drill, so the holesaw is much cheaper than the Jigsaw alternative.

a 12cm hole saw is quite expensive man. thats why not alotta people use it.

everything suggested will work, its a matter of what you want to do and what youre comfortable with. practice first. i had a choice between a dremel and a jigsaw, and i chose dremel because the chances of me dremeling myself or my case apart was much smaller then with a dremel.
