Looks pretty good to me on the trailer (even if they have cherry picked memorable bits), and the reviews on RT are all solid for it. Looking forward to this next Weds.
I enjoyed it a lot! Urban makes for a good, if slightly thin (in stature) Dredd. Definitely exudes presence. Solid cast, nice visuals. Slow Mo wasn't overdone (quite pretty in 3D), Soundtrack was fapping awesome! Very brutal, loved it. 8/10.
Brilliant. Absolutely drokking awesome. Urban is fab as Dredd (who knew you can act with your chin!), and Thirlby is good as the rookie Anderson, with a believable progression from unsure cadet to the fully fledged Psi-Judge we all love at the end. Anyone who thinks the previous film is better is hereby sentenced to life without parole in the iso-cubes. Control, send in a meat-wagon...
The only thing it lacked was an ABC Warrior Also, I had to stop myself from laughing in the theatre at Avon Barksdale. Guess he never learnt his lesson in Baltimore
Well I have to say I thought it was pretty damn good, Urban makes a great Dredd with good deadpan humor, doesn't pull its punches in the action scenes and quite violent. I'd say it deserves its 18 certificate and I can see why it would be compared with The Raid. The 3D was well done but TBH it really doesn't add anything so save yourself a few quid and go see the 2D version. I'm glad to say that it banishes the bad memories of Dredd 95 for me.
Saw it opening night with a friend- not cheap though 26.10 for 2 3D tickets.. Overall 9/10, felt it could have done with more in mega city as you are limited to what you see- interesting to see the modern/futuristic mega city 1. The cast was well chosen, particularly Urban and Thirlby who work really well together throughout the film, Dredd shows how you get through a building to the top, the raid falls a bit short. The film should do well world wide and hopefully we will see the next 2 films, with larger budgets etc.
finally got chance to see it, awesome. it was a little spoiled with people yakking like tards at the back of the showing but the film was loud enough to shut them up. im with krikkit on this, cant wait to run it through my home cinema.
