Does using dual screens hit the GPUs performance much? Or when gaming, is the second screen not used? Never really looked into this. I love the idea for Photoshop use, but am not too keen on the idea of a performance hit in games.
no performance hit, generally second screen isnt used (be useless for fps anyway as your crosshair would be between the 2 screens
A 56k'r on a 1024x768 monitor wouldn't exaclty have a fun time, the first page totals about 1.5MB Anyway, wasn't meaning it as an attack on anyone, just a request
:| there are many, and we should all spare a thought for them, as we once had to endure the suffering that is 56k too.
Ahhh the joys of duel screens ive got onw 19" TFT and a 19" CRT (which is FAR too dark for its own good). And i also have the laptop sitting next to them both. Housemates cant understand it but id never go back to one screen. Good for watching TV on one but i think i need another one
been using dual's for ages now, started when I used to make CSS maps, Made it ALOT easier. Now I use the 19" for design, games, websites and all that. and the 15" for TV, msn, video controls, windows explorer (great for drag and drop). very very good. I've not tried tried to run games using both screens as there both differnt screen res's. plus the border issue in the middle Im in the process of buying a projector to run a 60" screen for movies
Been using triple screens for about 6 months 3 21" crt's on my main rig, very useful for video editing and when im surfing, having chat and winamp or a movie open on one screen, internet on another and what ever i'm working on on the middle screen. Iv'e also got duel screens on another rig that is used for media, movies and the like when im working on the main rig and I need the other screen free. I have set up 4 screens but at the moment my desk isn't big enough for a 4th screen so I'm sticking to the big 3 at the moment. Could never go back to just a single screen now though, I have to uase a single at work and it drives me mad having to switch between windows when I'm busy.
lol i wanted a dual setup but couldnt afford the second monitor so i got my laptop and hooked up my monitor to it and it was pretty cool (except for the fact that the laptop was like 4 inches lower than the lcd monitor lololol) ps how do you get the 2nd monitor the stay normal when your opening a ful screen game, whenever i would try to ply warcraft (3) the laptop monitor just went blank and the 2nd monitor didnt do anything...
dual montiors with a low res is nothing, i have dual 17 crts with 1600X1200 and a psone lcd that is set for temps but can be used as a third and my PDA functions as a fourth
I liked having my dual monitors, but i had some problems even with ultra mon. Battlefield 2 would always crash on me so i decided to scrap the whole second monitor
bf2 used to randomly take out my dual monitor setup on exit primary would be disabled, just re-enabled it, disabled secondary and re-enabled secondary
You can have full screen - dual monitor playback if you use Media Player Classic and select the none overlayed decoders. Works really really well!
I run a tripple monitor setup at the moment (two 19" TFT's and one 15" for winamp and samirize). I might get another monitor in a month. I don't have the space at the moment, but i move out in desember. Running BF2 on a tripple (or dual) monitor setup isn't any problem here.
For the price of mose 24" widescreen TFTs that can cope with games I.E the Dell 24" you can pick up 2 YES TWO 20" Dells which work out better in games Because you can get higher FPS due too it not running a deviant resolution like 1900x1200 WTF is with that shite lol, just get 2 20s much neater. But then all depends on what you want too do as a 24" is nice fore movies and a bit shite for games unless your running 2 7800GTX cards then it runs fine but for the sake of hardware 2 is better then 1 Duals 20s over a single 24 any day of the week. -Better frames -More desktop space -Looks cooler -Cost affective morgan.
