    Greetings fellow Bit-Techers,

I've had some news today that has pissed me right off and i'm curious as to just how angry I should get with my other half?

I'm getting married in just over 7 weeks and have shelled out what some would class as a fortune in making the day special for the missus. The budget has run pretty tight and I've been as accomodating as possible in making sure we have the day she wants, bells and whistels included.

Anyway, I have discovered today that my missus, after buying a £1,200 wedding dress, doesn't like it anymore due to the colour being wrong, something which she didn't check properly when buyng it. She now refuses to wear it and wants to go out and buy another dress at further great expense.

Should a bride get whats she wants or is she just taking the right royal piss?

If you cant return it you could probably sell it, Or let her get the one she wants at her expense . Of course you could just make her get married in her underwear LOL I wouldn't like to say what rest of your married life would be like though.

Both tbh. Yes she is taking the piss by forking out £1,200 for a dress she didn't check properly before buying and now wanting a new one, but at the same time I do think women care a lot more about having their perfect wedding day. At the end of the day you're probably in a losing position whatever you do, just got to weigh up which'll hurt more, the financial impact of buyin a new dress or the emotional impact of making her wear a dress she doesn't like.

Sounds like the two of you are ready to get married

So are there any other issues that we here at bit tech can sort out for you?

Or are you leaving everything else up to /b/

now's the time to hire a tux t-shirt, and tell her that's all you could afford after getting her a new dress.

You didn't mention what color it is, and what color it's supposed to be

If it isn't white enough, then soak it in bleach for a few hours or until it's white enough.

If she say's it's too white, then you know what that means :worried:

I was similarly shocked when we'd agreed on a budget of around £300 for my betrothed's dress, and she spent £900.

She agreed to pay the difference herself at least, and she has tried it on and knows its the colour she wants.

My general take is this: the day isn't about you, its about her. And if its not a happy day for her, she will remember it for your entire marriage.

If she wants a new dress, then you gotta let her have it, but she's going to have to work with you to find the money for it.

You'd be surprised what you can sell on Ebay, too.

The colour was meant to be Ivory but she claimed it looked more gold than anything and I can't imagine that looking all that attractive. She took the afternoon off and went and got another dress so I suppose the main thing is that she's happy on the day.

Should get some money back from selling it on Ebay or the like but does feel like I've held a money bonfire today. At least it'll make the move to i7 a little easier to justify after the honeymoon!

WTF  Is she marrying herself, and you're just a guest, or is she marrying you?

Fair enough that you could sell it on ebay and buy another one, but then maybe she changes her mind about the next dress, or the church, or the reception, etc.

I'd rather just marry a girl that isn't a total pita.

I'd let her have a new one. It is often a day that's more important for women than for men, after all. I'd however make it clear that the other dress has to go onto ebay then... if you can't afford both, you can't afford both.
