Great score! Sandy Bridge still comes close.
Still, you have one hell of a rig there, go play with your big TV!

Will be looking forward to it. I might have to get a bucket of ice and stick my rad in that for some higher clocks, as I'm limited by temps rather than max clock speed.

Any carbon fire extinguishers in that wagon of yours?

If you get your rad into a bucket of ice i want to see the pics, that will be entertaining.

there's a post in the mag discussions, where a mate of mine hit 2850 points with a 2600k on air, not bad for a 220 quid CPU really. I could only muster just short of 2600 points@5GHz. It failed to run the tests at 5.25GHz.

@true_gamer, have you done a superpi 1m run on it yet?

2600 points is not bad given what you are running compared to the costs of True_Gamers set up...thats the beauty of sandybridge.....i may have to pick your brains on the 4.8ghz settings you have thought..i just went with the 4.5ghz bit tech set up but have yet to play with anything higher..

I think a Cinebench run is also in order. I want to see what 6 hyperthreaded 5.02GHz cores can do.

My best so far @ 5ghz, I did try 5.2ghz, but it failed through the test. Temps hitting high in to the 80's

I really want to break the 3000 max.

    hrumpf!

Just tried running the tests and ran into this problem and it aborted the tests a few seconds...not sure why its a fresh install of the benchmark suite?

The problem here, is these benchmarks won't use all my cores and threads.
So you may think your 2500k is as fast, in single threaded apps. But when it comes to multi threaded apps, the 990x will leave Sandybridge in the dust.
I think we need a new CPC benchmark, that will make use of all my Cores and Threads, to show the true potential of a Hex core.

Cinebench thelaw? I will set my Cpu @ 4.5Ghz:D

I ran furmark for my GTX 460 first at 815mhz for about 3 minutes, my temps are in the stats below 60c

and again at 850mhz for 5 mins i was hitting just above 60c
