It's only nutjobs who complain to the ASA, anyway.

I mean, the VW ad with the singing dog has been pulled because people were worried about why the dog was trembling. FFS people, it's an advert. They can accept a singing dog, but can't accept a trembling dog? Absurd.

I'd be more worried that the ad actually made the game look good. Surely that's against trade descriptions?

26 complaints are enough to stop the advertising for kane and lynch but to shut up uwe boll takes one million signatures? wtf...

the only real reason to ban it would be the low quality of the game.

i played it for a minute in the local game store. It reminded me of some old arcade style shooter with a machine gun where you could shoot targets on the screen and then proceed to the next part. And the fact that I really really HATE 3th person shooters. Except tomb raider 1

I don't get stuff like this?

clearly if the person complaining was worried about the portrayal of women in the advert, they are probably pro womens rights. which would mean equality. meaning the gender of the person gaged should not matter. It wasn't until they said it was a gender issue that it became one.
How many movies have there been with a guy gagged in a chair? Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and Boondock Saints come to mind right away. Those were true brutal all of portrayals of violence.

I hate womens rights groups that push equality. But don't practice it.

Don't get me wrong. Real acts of violence on anyone are wrong. But in media, can't we enjoy our blood baths.

I havnt seen the K&L advert but surely its just depicting part of the game, as Drexial said, in this world of equality surely we are allowed to show images of either sex in such circumstances. Its like the old saying of you cant hit a woman, when she sure as hell isnt going to have the same social pressures to not hit the guy, Sexual equality groups are probably some of the most sexist people around :p

Am I alone in saying I actually enjoyed the game? Its not got massive re-playability but I enjoyed playing through it *hides in corner*

Surely the VW ad is worse, to get a dog to look that scared it would surely have to be mistreated. Virtual depiction of abuse is one thing, actual depiction of it is another.

Apparently not. According to the producer of the ad, which was filmed in the US in the presence of the Humane Society, the dog was a natural trembler (my dog does the same when she gets excited). To enhance the trembling, they actually had the dog stand on a vibrating plate.

The ASA said there were no grounds for removing the ad, but VW removed it anyway.
