I've got floormats in my car, and no matter what I do, they love the idea of riding up under the dash. Especially my drivers sid mat, seems to think its nice and cozy curled up under my clutch ;p

So, how can I keep them in place, hopefully something short of putting a hook in the floorboard?

There are companies out there that make floor mats contoured to the shape of the foot well of your particular make/model of car. These don't move at all.

There are other systems out there that put a clip through your carpet and latch on to the mat.

Short of that..... good luck. Perhaps you could stick velcro to the back of the mat and hope that hopes. I've personally never been able to stop mine from riding up.

3m duble sided tape works well. Get a roll and coat the bottom of the mats with it. Worked b4. Some mats actualy have spikes in the bottom of them made of rubber that dig in the carpet and dont move.

Volvo's do the same thing ;)

Actually, I've used velcro in the past with success. Use the good stuff though, the cheap velcro won't work too well.

Yeah, my mom's Honda have those little hook thingies. They always catch my shoelaces though, and I end up getting them untied every time I get out of the car. Other than that though, they work great.
If you don't ever want them to move, try some leather cement, the stuff they uselike for gluing rubber soles to leather boots. That stuff will hold anything to anything. Usually comes in a big red & yellow tin, not sure about the name of the stuff.

Yeh, They use the little rubber spikes to grab the carpet. Never moves. The spikes are long and dig into the carpet and stay put. Had the chevy for about 4 years and the only times the mats moved is when I moved them to vacum the car.

Velcro would work very well tho.
