I have recently received a company mobile phone and I've decided to do away with my personal phone as there are no usage restrictions on the new company mobile with the exception of 'don't take the piss'.

I would like to keep my personal mobile number though and just wondering if anyone can suggest the best way of keeping the number live for the cheapest cost possible.
    Cheers

Swap it to a pay as you go sim, something like Tesco's put a tenner on it and as long as you make a call within I think it's 60 days the number stays active.

With a tenner credit and a simple 10p call every 60 days then that tenner will last a very long time.

They do a cheap ass Phone if you don't have an unlocked phone, or I might even have an old one for postage you can have

Ask your current provider what their 'minimum usage' is on their PAYG tariff, it's likely 6 months as most seem to be that.

Port the number to a cheap voip provider and just run a sip/iax client on your company phone.

That is a pretty good idea actually, I'll do some digging. Thanks

I had an O2 sim and I think it took 900+ days for them to disconnect it - at which point I called up and they reconnected it. :)
