So, my PC randomly completely freezes. Doesn't shut it's self down it just goes audio crazy and wont let you do anything at all.

I reinstalled windows yesterday (Since the HDs had previously been running on a different system). Installed GPU/mobo drivers but it's still crashing from time to time. Usually when something is loading up.

    Anyway, this system is

    Athlon X2 255
    2gb OCZ 1.85v DDR1333
    8600GS (Please don't laugh)
    CX400
    Asus M4A78LT-M LE

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

    Surely you mean an 8600GT?

If that's the case then try removing the 8600GT and testing the system with the on-board video out. If it works then you either have a problem with the 8600GT or the CX400 PSU, I'd be willing to wager it's the former assuming no new additions have been made to your system to put the PSU under additional strain!

Meh, my PC had a 6200SE until about a year ago, and another PC in the house still has one! :p

    Yes sorry it's a GT.

It's not the PSU as I changed it just the other day and the same thing was happening prior.

I'll use the onboard and see what happens, thanks very much!

Haha, ok it's not that bad!

Ok, so changed the GPU to the onboard and getting exactly the same problem.

The memory is 1.85v so I was worried it might be that so undervolted and it still happens.

Running Prime 95 on the CPU intensive setting and the computer is still operating (just about obviously) but on the mixed setting it often crashes (but in a different way)...

So essentially, I have no idea what's going on...

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks very much

    try running memtest.

And try running an HDTune hard drive health check.
