1 twimtbp game , 3 sythetics and a game which can be played on a netbook (MW3) , and whats lost planet 2 anyway? so in physx games its awesome , but average in other games..... which is what the rumours said a few months back
Thanks for posting this A little unsure what to think yet. One thing is for certain, i'm not going to rush to pre order one. Yeah, I thought the same. BF3, Shogun 2, Crysis 2 @ top resolutions would have been far more revealing
Shame it didn't cover more games really as it would have been nice to see a bigger range. Maybe it didn't perform that well in them and so they didn't list it?
I wondered that when reading, I think I will wait with anticipation for the Bit Tech review, at least they make it a good read and we know they will cover a load of different games and benches and importantly different resolutions, as many have expressed here the 2gb is going to either be a make or break for a lot of people looking to buy them. Personally I can't wait to read a decent review!!o
If you look at the original review http://www.hkepc.com/7672/page/6#view , they seem to have covered (I assume after releasing the initial stuff) Battlefield 3. Its a much, much closer call. Looks like it is mainly PhysX games where it shines.
Literally learnt nothing from that. That's a lie actually. We learnt that for someone who is willing to use LN2 rig for testing, they aren't willing to do a proper review... Plus, who in their right mind think they are going to get cards from nVidia all the time for reviews, would post a picture of themselves breaking embargoes?
PhysX is gimped on CPU alone though, with the much older instruction set used, they could optimise it a lot more for CPU performance, but they don't to promote the use of Nvidia graphics cards
For the Rez its tested at I'm happy enough Only thing I hope is prices come down £900 for sli 680s is a bit much to stomach
Not sure if having 2 of these in sli is sensible full stop 8 X AA a 580 hitting 54 fps? What maximum or average and what map or level? As mentioned, crap review is.. etc
Such reviews are generally done by numpties using the single player campaign. Nevertheless you can still see the gap between 580 and 680.
When I reviewed BF3... I set the detail to LOW and used a mod to further disable stuff like textures so I was hitting 320 FPS on a 560Ti. At 800 x 600.
interesting - the B3 results show 2 fps between them..... so as i said , throw physx in and its a monster but when not physx heavy....
