Modding Key Lock

    i think it'd be cool to have a keylock...I dont have the key for this one, but I'd go buy a new one. where does the thing plug into though? somewhere on the mobo???

    by the looks of is it plugs into the power header on the mobo where the on/off switch plugs into mobo and u take out the power switch so it doesnt work, wouldn't take a lot to start tho, just rip off the side and hook up a normal switch :rolleyes: i wouldn't use that if you want security, if u want coolness then go for it ;)

    AT boards (remember those?) had a header for that, it would lock the keyboard and mouse as I recall, I never used mine at all.

    You could use it to interrrpt the power button, so it would require a key plus the power button to fire up your peecee...

    1st para: yup old mobos had special headers... were really b4 my time

    2nd para: I thinking of doing it to lock out power switch too... possibly reset too if i bother to think of a way to do it :rolleyes:

    pretty sure my mb still has one... i'd have to consult that strange thing called a manual though

    :rofl: LOL. yea actually this is out of a realllllly old pc. which is now in pieces on my living room floor :rolleyes:

    also, theres a Connector not being used by a plug right above the PWR_LED...it says GRN_LED, whats that?

    could be the led for the turbo button or summat.

    GRN = Green = enviromently friendly = suspend mode maybe ?

    My mobo has the header for a keylock.

    mine has a header for a smart card reader, just need to find one now :rolleyes:
