Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying a Cooler Master CM Storm Quick Fire Keyboard but have noticed it doesn't have any media controls on it.

Question is this. Is there such a thing as a keyboard with JUST media controls on it (i.e. no a-z, enter, shift, ctrl key etc) that could be plugged in independently of the main keyboard? i have MORE than enough USB ports going begging (seems a shame to waste them :D)

Any help appreciated, I've done some google-ing and cant find any so thought i would ask here.

    Thanks.

LOL, yes something like that but i want something which has easy to find buttons and wired which i can mount above my keyboard. Think keyboard with media controls with the keyboard cut off :)

Actually, I am highly certain every CM board in their lineup has media control, just as a FN layer. So you probably really don't need anything else... but if you still think you want...
    Make your own?
Or if that is too much effort for you, there are some programmable keypads out there. Have a look around on ebay for some cheap Access-is, Tipro or Genovation stuff.

I've just looked an image of the keyboard you own on the CM website and as Ivan has mentioned it does have Media keys accessed via the FN key and the F5-F12 keys.

Its not too much effort but i don't know if the skill level is perhaps a little high. My electronics is awful :)

I may give it a shot though. May be fun.

    Thanks for the link :)

Grab a broken G11/G13/G15 keyboard from the bay and hack off/mod the multimedia portion of the keyboard.
