I have a Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 1.0A (apparently), and it's giving me grief. (I'd give a link but I don't think they do it any more) It has 5 numbered hotkeys, volume controls, keyboard/log off/sleep buttons, and a zoom slider. When I press the left Windows key it starts the calculator and occasionally brings up the start menu. The right windows key appears to do what the 3rd numbered hotkey should do. The up arrow key moves the cursor up then right. Probably some other issues too. I have the latest drivers. Any ideas on how to fix these?
Absurdly, that would require the removal of 15 (fifteen) screws! Not that is difficult, but surely a touch OTT for a 10-quid KB. Plus it's only a few months old and I shouldn't need to.
I bought it online, and it's almost certainly not worth it. And I am just peeved that it is misbehaving so soon after buying it, no known damage, no spills, no nuffin'.
just opened it up, couldn't see a single thing wrong, no corrosion, no fluff, etc. Hitting it till it behaves sounds good, but I don't think it'll work
Ring the etailer say that it's not worth you sending it back, complain a bit, they may just send you a new one.
Try giving it a shake. Fixes mine when the "w" key refuses to work at the same time as "d" or "a". Shouldnt have to really though, as you've done probs best trying to get it replaced
