    Aight people,

I'm searching for a PC to play the latest games on a resolution of 1680X1050
I have found that the 9800GTX+ was the best on this resolution (better than the 4850)
I'm going to overclock my CPU to 3,0 GHZ or even a little bit higher.
Is the configuration (link, clicky clicky) good or is their a better configuration?

    Nothing glaringly wrong there.
Whilst you have configured it my preferred way, the 160GB hard drive will probably give slower reads than the 500GB due to the 500GB having higher platter densities.

Can't agree more. I have 2 of these, and they're fabulous. Fast, quiet, and cheap when you think in terms of £/$ per Gb.

    [edit]

However, my findings don't quite tally with Bit Tech's. While very fast, I get higher performance from my Seagate 7200.11 1.5Tb drive.

I'd say, as you appear to have 85€ going unused, increase the HDD capacity. Especially with games getting bigger and bigger these days, I'd say go for a 1TB or 1.5TB (if you're really going some, WD have just released a 2TB drive).
    Otherwise looks good :)

Maybe i get another 7200.12 500 GB in RAID0 and i will drop the OS, becasue i going to wait to july and buy then a vista version, so i can upgrade it for free to a windows 7.
    Or maybe 3 7200.12 500 GB in RAID0 for more speed :D

Why not spend the extra money on more drive capacity when you need it in the future as prices will only come down over time. At the moment the biggest difference to gaming performance would be upgrading the graphics card, could you get a gtx260 with the extra 85?

Actually yeah, re-reading your first post, you say you want to play the 'latest games'. TBH, a newer generation card would be better for that, and with 85€ to spare, you could easily upgrade from the 9800GTX+. The 260 is apparently good bang for buck right now, and the 4870 1GB is pretty sweet too.

I still think increasing the hard drive capacity is a good idea though. I don't trust RAID much, and also, the 1TB are more GB/€ than than 500GB drives right now. And the Seagate 7200.11s are selling like nothing else, and have a good price tag on.

If you want to play new games into the future then you'd be much better going with a 500gb drive for now and getting either the 4870 1gb or a gtx260, there have been many tests showing that "only" 512mb of ram on a modern high end graphics card really isn't enough.

Yeah definitely, the review of the 1gb version on here shows the difference
