Xp doesnt recognise something? hmm that is unusual, i take it you've downloaded the best/latest graphics driver for that card? what does device manager say about display adapter?

You mean the board has on-oard video as well?, If so you may have to change some jumpers on the board to kill the on-board graphics and you might have to slect in the Bios the default video card to boot from, the on-board card will most likely be called PCI as oppsed to AGP.

    Hope this helps.

the onboard graphics is refered to as agp by the bios. the mobo has no agp slot, and the voodoo2 im using isnt a standalone video its one of those ones where your existing video output plugs into it and it adds its power to the existing video power.

erm, xp + voodoo = annoyance!! since 3dfx went under before xp was introduce,d, i dont think any official drivers have been created, but there are a few on the net. i cant think where, maybe www.voodoofiles.com

having said that, u say xp isnt picking it up at all?? try a diff pci slot, or if worse comes to worse, but a cheap mobo with agp

If she was my girlfriend I would give her a new PC

Seriously though, maybe you should just get a pci gf2 or something to replace the voodoo which is pants anyway.

YIKES.. i know exactally what your talking about.. my buddy had the same setup with a voodoo2 in his old system.. worked perfectally fine in 98, but soon as we installed 2000/xp we couldnt find drivers for that setup, so everything worked, but without hardware 3d ascceleration..

if you dont have a agp slot, i would say your best bet would be to find a older PCI geforce card.. i believe the GF3's were still made in PCI..

Mabye because the VooDoo3 doesnt have very good Direct3D Support? It was made for Glide, which is more like OpenGL.

I had the same problem with my old rig that I gave to my lil bro. EXACT same setup. Celery 366, onboard video, VooDoo 2. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a $50 PCI GF2 MS200 w/ 32MB of RAM and that cured the problems.

well im already planning for the clawhammer and sledgehammer pc's ....

which is why i bought the xp 2000+

so when i have a job and the clawhammer comes out i can upgrade and give her the xp 2000+

but the celery is mainly for her to go online while im gaming, although it would be nice to play cs with her.

im not going to spend money on it cause it was built out of spare parts/donations
