Nothing much to report so far, just sticking to it. Breakfasts usually consist of of Scrambled Egg or a Tuna Mayo pot at about 10:00. Lunch is generally a chicken salad, with cucumber and ham. In fact yesterday the guys came in with a McDonalds breakfast and there were doughnuts throughout the day, I didn't really fancy them... very weird. Dinner; had a Chicken Korma the other day (no rice) or last night had a fry up with Gammon Ham. Still drunk nothing but Water or Diet Lemonade since starting, however my work bought me a bottle of Absolut Vodka for 2 Years Long Service, so I'm sure I can make that vanish over time. Going to start playing Squash again tonight and there is some talk of a treadmill as well. (Yes, I know I could go jogging, but I just don't like it..) It's going well, I don't know if I could do this long term, but I certainly can until the weight drops off. I think once I lose the weight, the most important thing is going to be how I come off the diet.
My mum's a teacher and we all know how well teachers and coffee go together, infact I'm pretty sure that teachers are what keeps the coffee industry alive! She decided to stop having caffinated (sp?) tea/coffee, and within 3 days she was *physically* shaking, felt tired, sick and generally awful. Needless to say she was straight back onto the caffinated vareity, and was fine within ~12 hours Scary stuff... Good luck mate, glad to see you're sticking to it!
this type of diet, especially a strict atkins format diet is only ment to be a short term diet anyway, stick on it to long and you could be in trouble...how much weight have you lost to date?
I don't know if ur still doing this right now ... but .. I wish u good luck !!! I'm trying to loose some weight myself too .. never tried a diet .. I just eat less chips and candy , and go running daily... dosnt help much though .. but I feel alot better , and thats more important .... I'm 1m85, and weigh a84kg so I guess thats good ... lol GOOD LUCK !!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Ok, today's weigh in is: Weight: 14st 3lb (199lbs, 89.55kg) Waist: 38.5" Chest: 40" Which gives us a total so far of 1st 1lb loss (15lbs, 6.75kg) And if you wanted updated pics:
nice one!!!!! if only i had the will power to start a diet and stick to it!!! good luck with the rest of the diet!
Whoa thsoe are some pretty impressive results, all that lost in such a short space of time, this diet really does work!
Ok, time for an honest update. I'm not sure I'm especially happy with this. The weight loss, whilst being startlingly good, is also a cause for concern. I don't 'feel right' about it and I'm also very tired and down. Losing over a stone in a week doesn't seem right to me for some reason, no matter what the pro-atkins people will say and I'm having growing uneasiness about keeping this way of eating up for much longer. I came to a decision today to rearrange the diet technique, now that I have lost at least half the weight I wanted. I'm going to slowly re-introduce the carbs back to an acceptable level and then pile on the exercise and try to maintain healthy balanced eating in order to both keep the weight off and tone and trim the rest of my body. I'll keep the log updated, obviously I still have a goal to reach. However I just don't think Atkins is right for me (Which is a very important realisation to make if you can).
I'm glad to hear you say that kna I didn't want to say anything earlier, as you said at the very beginning that you didn't want negative comments and people trying to put you off. Thing is, I've heard of people (having stuck to the diet for over a fortnight) just passing out etc. This diet is kinda a "binge diet" i guess. Losing over a stone in a week is great, but you're right to stop for now (especially if you feel uncomfortable with it). Maybe you could do another week in a month or two? (Though i reckon stopping and starting regularly might **** up your body a bitt too?) Anyway, well done for sticking with it for a while, and a stone off is certainly significant just glad your stopping now before you really harm yourself End of the day, the body needs carbs, so eat some god dammit man
ive been told by people very much in the know, that you have to be 3 parts crazy to be able to stick to a strict atkins diet (not 3 parts crazy to want to do it, theres a diffence )....basicially, you will feel like crap, you will feel like ripping someones head off, when your not feeling dead tired....but, its a short term thing, you'l feel better once you start back with the carbs.....but now you will find you feel bad if you go over board with the carbs....its all one big ballancing act
Nice one Kna.... That must be real good news... lol, those pics look like its for the police... But stil nice 1
I figure an update is in order.. easing off seems to be going well. I'm ensuring I'm having my carb allowance every day now so that I can get back into it. Been doing some weights and plan to run as well. Still not got back on the caffeine yet, although that may change down the pub tonight when I have JD&C's. (Not got the guts to hit the beer properly yet..) We'll have another weigh in on Sunday and see how it's going. I feel better already though.
You need some carbs man, the brain requires them and if you don't take in some a day the body can't convert them from your body fat fast enough. I had the same issue. Just eat something that is good for you that has a small amount carbs (such as whole wheat bread) and you should feel better after a couple days. The best carbs are the complex carbs though. Congrats on what you have done but be really careful, if you loose the weight to fast you will put it all back on. I'm doing weight loss as well but mine is much slower so I don't notice the "lag" as much. So far I've gone from 320 --> 260 pounds. Good luck it is so hard at first but time helps it numb a bit. ~Chris
Right, thought it was about time I updated everyone on what's going on.. the weight loss plan is still active, and I'm pleased to say going well. Firstly, some stats: Weight: 14st (196lb, 88.2kg) Waist: 38" Chest: 39" As of about a week ago, I eased off almost completely into a carb-rich diet (which has included beer, cakes and McDonalds), however this has been in moderation and nothing to excess, which is the assumption when people come off diets. I haven't binged, I haven't snacked; I've just changed back to normal eating. Also, I have been doing weights at home, just 10 mins a day at most, 3-4 times a week. This isn't too taxing and seems to be having an effect. Next week the running begins in an effort to tone up and keep the weight I've lost off. If I can ensure this 18lbs I've lost doesn't go back on, then we're in business.
