I thought it were a bit naughty! I seem to remember buying it from a friend years ago. I never had any intention of using it - just thought it was dead 'ard lookin' and wanted to have it. Does that make me a bad person?

    :naughty:

    Yes.
It is absurd to make it illegal to carry any form of self protection. This is like that other thread when Penski got jumped. :worried:

i agree , you should be alowed to carry some sort of item (somthing sharp) to defend ur self, i mean, walking home from a party at 2am in the morning, i brick it !!!!

and most ares where i live arnt lit up very well , so u can see f**k all. its bloody dangerous to be honest

and let criminals have an excuse to carry knives about?

Also what would be the point if you wern't prepared to use it? if someone started a fight and started beating you up are you honestly saying you'd be able to bring a knife out and stab them?

The more likely scenario is you'll either provide them with another weapon or get arrested and be made out to be the attacker. If you want to protect yourselves learn some self defence.

The issue that i see is that the gov is actually telling you that you can't carry a sharp piece of metal with you... this seems a little over the line, at least to me... what next... no rocks... cause you could hurt someone??

Criminals will carry knives if they want... and these laws arent gonna stop them...

I'm not even saying for self-defence, if you wanna carry a knife... you can carry a knife... if you stab someone with it, that's another story...

btw, i'm in the US, so i don't think that the laws are the same... here we technically have "the right to bear arms" but it seems that the gov is trying to take that away from us...

also... i don't own a gun, large knives, or anything like that (exception... I do have a Compound Bow), i just don't have a problem with anyone who wants to own these things..

    sorry for the rant... ;)

i do no self defense, i attended ju jit su lessons for 7 years.

all im saying is that if someone came at you , you saw them , and u brought out a knife , it may fend them off, but on the other half , yes u cud get labeld as the attacker

its complicated , and start geting confused , lol

anyway the laws the law , and who are we to try and change it

Hi Lazy :) Good to see you are into these sorts of things.

We just call them an MP5-SD - no '6'. I took the pic I posted - It's a real one, not an airsoft or replica. I've used these a fair bit ;)

Here's also a pic I took of an M4A1 with 203, QA supressor and Trijicon reflex sight (the one I use now has the enhanced SOPMOD butt as well, not the early model butt shown in the pic). The supressor is handy, gives at least 28dB reduction but is most useful in caves etc to minimise the hammering your ears can take. We normally throw an AN/PEQ2A on the top rail of the RAS as well. Gives the left arm a bit of a workout with the weight all being forward (I'm right handed).

I know this is a 'Knives' thread so I promise no more piccies of firearms. :)

Edit - changed pic to a link so as not to disturb anyone

Out of curiosity, what do you need a fully automatic weapon for? Or any 'real' gun?

    Self defence (officer).

And, to prevent his turning into essentially a repeat of what has already been said, I sugest anyone with an issue for or against carrying weapons for self defense should check out this thread:

I was (am) after a serious answer. I would like to know why he needs/wants such serious weaponry. Is he Police, Armed Forces, etc...?
