hi there, this being my first post to this board and all ** wave**

I mod everything...so I have this project with about 9 or so 12volt bulbs in a row and I wanna get them to flash from left to right to left to right .etc.. and so on... If I could get any other things like weird flashes that would be cool. I found the led how to.. but i dunno how close the 2 are... thx

    Welcome to the boards
    /waves back

I'm not sure how similar/easy it would be to do it with bulbs rather than LED's but you have to remember that normal bulbs give out a lot more heat than an LED. If you plan to use it inside your case then I think you would be better off with LED's.

What your probably going to need is a circuit board of sometype.
Basically the wire will go into the circuit board where the 9 lights will be connected.
Basically the circuit board will flash each bulb in sequence. You'd really have to know what your basically doing.

A guy I use to work with made a frisbee with lights on the side. When you threw it the lights would rotate.
Never seen it in action but he said it worked really well.

Welcome to Bit-Tech delta88 and FragaGeddon.

You need a modified version of this circuit: http://bit-tech.net/article/82/

You will need to add a suitable transistor to each output so the circuit can provide enough power to light the 9v/12v bulb.

don't worry about heat.....since the bulbs are the brake lights on 2 of my older cars...I never worry about the heat :thumb: what if the led circut was used but instead of normal leds HID leds where substituted in there place... what, a matter of changing the resistor type... a high intensity led would/should give off enough light to look like a brake light once it was in he tail lenses.

    how about it
