http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16498261 What is interesting is the patents lawsuits, filed in federal court, claim that some of Apple's iPhones, iPads and iPods and HTC's smartphones and tablets infringe on four Kodak patents relating to image transmission. Could kodak have been sitting on those patents and not shown their cards until now? Apparently, they were expected to file for bankruptcy but instead pulled out these apples!!
LOL their business plan is to sue the **** out of people and become 'digital'? They are 20 years behind and plan to fund it with lawsuits. Great..
Sadly, this is the technology industry. Constantly patenting simple but efficient ideas to stop a competitor from making a better version. Yay.
They make some of the best colour negative film emulsions available today though - they can't stop making it! (and I hope they don't)!
I don't really think this a clear case of patent trolling. They've been producing imaging and designing ways to produce images for 132 years. You would hope they came up with something early on in the early days of digital but maybe someone thought better and hoped film would last forever?
