KT3 Ultra 2 @ 166FSB Help

    Okay, here is my problem. I have 2 sticks of Kingmax 512 ram pc2700.
    When i have one stick in i can run my computer fine at 166 FSB. But, when i put both sticks in i can only run it at the bios default 100 FSB.If i try to put it any higher the computer boots but nothing comes up on the screen.Plz help

    MB: KT3 Ultra 2
    Memory: Kingmax 512 MB pc 2700 (both)
    AMD XP Barton 2500+

    I've had problems similar to this before -- Try manually setting all the timings in your BIOS with one stick in, all your latencies and speeds, and then stick the other stick in. Could be it's just not reading the SPD right, or one of the SPD's isn't set right.

    Im not very familiar with this can you go into detail plz?Like where to find these speeds i looked and couldnt find.:/

    First of all, have you reset CMOS after adding the other stick? - these boards can be quite picky about this sort of thing....

    - Zephyr could be right about the timings - We'd need to see what settings you have in the BIOS to check... (might be under advanced chipset settings / DRAM timings)

    MSI's site has loads of FAQs about incompatible RAM causing similar issues......(although yours is listed as OK)
    Might be worth checking and upgrading to the latest BIOS version.....
