    Hi,

I'm looking for either a KTB772 or a KSB772 transistor in the UK to replace the broken one on my fan controller. Haven't had any luck so far, anyone got any links? :)

After some investigating, I think I've found the answer:

    1) I obtained a datasheet for the original part, available HERE: (Just click the 'Download' link at the bottom of the page)

    2) After some searching, I found a pin-for-pin exact equivalent, the datasheet of which can be read HERE: (for comparison - you'll see that the two devices have the EXACT same specifications.)

    3) The alternative device, which is a 2SB772 transistor made by NEC, is available at Cricklewood Electronics, at a price of 50p each. Link HERE .

    Hope this helps :D

Edit: Looking round, the alternative 2SB772 also appears to be stocked by THIS company , based in Portsmouth, at about 88p each, although I've never used them. The link takes you to the page where you can add one to your cart - it's about 1/4 of the way down in the rightmost column of the page.

Last of all, the cheapest place I've found that seems to sell them in the uk is here. Again though, I've never used them, and have no idea how good they are. If they have them, I'd personally use Cricklewood.
