hmm...i think i might have to get the belkin soho kvm switch as its the only one ive seen that also does usb port and i need it for my usb mouse....
NONONONONONONONONONO That's the one I have. YOU CAN NOT USE USB MOUSE/KEYBOARD ON THE BELKIN SOHO KVM! There is NO USB INPUT. It's a REALLY odd setup. What you CAN do is use a USB cable from machine to KVM, and then PS/2 keyboard and mouse on the kvm. If you need to share a usb mouse or keyboard between two machines, you need to buy an additional belkin USB switch, which is around £40 (4 port).
huh??? i thought it was the soho series of KVM switches that allowed usb mouse and keyboard to work through it....i just need it for the mouse... cheers for that isaac....any ideas on another switch that will do it??
What you can do...is if your mouse came with a USB/PS2 converter then you can use that to convert to PS/2, connect to the KVM, then connect the KVM by USB to your machine.
yeah, but that defeats the point so i might aswell get the cheaper ps2 option and then up the ps2 port frequency.... where did u get urs from??
Ok thats twice you've quoted from the new promotion, I'm starting to think you're getting a backhander
If only I could it might improve on my excellent minimum wage. Also, if head office were not to set such unrealistic sales targets and stop the "goalpost moving" I might even earn commission....doubt it though. :cries:
I bought mine s/h. It is the very latest one however. It's a really odd setup, with the USB outputs but no USB input. Since I use a USB keyboard and mouse, these remain connected to my main machine, with a PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 trackball switchable. With my multi-monitor setup, this does allow me to use two machines at once, which takes some getting used to.
well, i only really need it to switch between 2 pcs, but i wanted to use my usb mouse and my ps2 keyboard for both.....ill just have to run it throught ps2 now...
