    8pm now? laaame. steam just redownloaded a large chunk of it too. I guess there was a pretty phat bug. Oh well, I can't play it until actual release now.

    Of course he is. It's not a pre-order with Steam, it's a pre-purchase, so you've already bought it.....and it's not like you can just take it back to the shop :p

    Steam lets you cancel pre-purchases as long as game hasn't been released yet.

    Every single L4D patch left the online portion broken, so why would L4D2, which is basically the same code, be any different? ;)

    I think that's a gross over-exaggeration tbh... A couple have made things worse, but to say all of them broke it every time is mad.

    It's not even the full game, its a demo, a day or 2 more won't hurt.

    Exactly what I was thinking, and any issues I have ever experienced have been fixed very quickly, and with minimal fuss (I love Steam auto update).

    The last Steam update seems to have broken it... lots of users on the Steam forums are reporting problems.

    Can anyone else log in? I can't, it won't even attempt to.

    A LOT of people have had update issues lately - couple of us even had CSS issues - to the point we were kicked off every server.
    Kinda sorted now.
    Not a good week for valve bless em!

    My L4D has been doing that on-off for a couple of weeks now, join a game, everything is fine for 30 seconds then "Retrying connection to server" FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUU.


    And while i'm on the subject, why is that when that happens theres no way to get out of it till;

    1- It actually sorts it **** out (1 in 10 chance at best)
    2- You wait the 230-odd seconds (BOOOOOOOOORING)
    3- You alt-tab and end the process

    Let me just quit the server you ****s!
