    Valve are taking the piss. Thousands of people, worldwide, all dancing around their PCs waiting for this sh*t to be released. I bet Gabe's having a bloody riot.

    It's downright crazy how badly they've done this release! I remember mumbling about having my pre-loaded HL2 back in '04 decrypted at an agonisingly slow rate, but this is just rubbing salt into an open wound.

    At least this is just the demo. Hopefully it means the full game won't suffer in the same way. Or is that a really naive thing to say?

    If i preload the demo, will the downlaod count towards my L4D2 actual download, so i dont have to download as much?

    Unlikely. As far as Steam is concerned it's an isolated product.

    Ha, and there I was thinking I would have my L4D2 demo to look forward to when I got home from work :(

    This is such a farce it's almost comical. I might just scrap the whole idea and wait for the game to be released, because I know I'm going to like it.

    steam forums are being battered, the servers arent responding.

    For all we know, they might have released it but the lag from the server rape is locking it up :D

    The L4D2 chat room has been kicking people due to only being able to handle 1000 people at a time, and the forums are falling over because of the 15k + people trying to refresh the threads to see if any news has arrived.

    The crazy thing is, is that if Valve had a proper communtiy manager then they would be able to stay on top of all this.
