Steam L4D2 is OUT!

As title, going to squeeze in as many games as possible before work!

 

This is upsetting, my steam client has spent the last hour checking for updates, meaning no games in my games tab! ARGH.

*checks*

Oh look, its back....brb.

 

I thought it was originally 18th release. But now on the store page it says 20th. Yet its still unlocked in my client,

Just got to finish downloading it.

My friend has been downloading for 3 days straight and is only on 53%,

 

I pre-loaded so I assume it will be unlocked, but I can't tell yet because it's still looking for game updates like Stickeh's.

EDIT: No sooner do I type that and it's back and unlocked!

 

Yeap checked this morning before i left for work, L4D2 is ready to play, Oh how I nearly phoned in sick . Cant wait till I play this tonight, got to do some shopping first though

I haven't purchased L4D2 because the demo didn't impress me. It was the same old game with an atmosphere I simply cannot like.

 

^^ i suggest you go read the eurogamer review. It's not the same game

 

Yeah i just made that mistake, was going to avoid it for a while and get it cheaper later but now i'm looking round for the cheapest source..... will power: I have none.

 

I'm actually thinking about getting l4d2, I got l4d and it's really good, only dissapointing was the lack of maps and that you had to constantly download packs to play more maps. It would have been better if they did like half life and made it so that the maps where downloaded when connecting to the servers.

Just hope I'll have some money in my wallet for l4d2, maybe there is a demo I can try before I jump the decision.

 

Anyone else having Steam issues right now? I would have thought the dry rape would have ending by time I got home but i'm getting the "Scanning for Steam games updates..." scenario. :S

worked ok this Morning though, now this bah.

 

Checked the DL this morning before work and it's all ready Six o'clock can't come soon enough.

What's this all about, I can't play it... steam is fine on my laptop, maybe this is because L4D2 is not installed. All I can see is half my Friends list 'In Game Left 4 Dead 2' - This is a joke...

Is anyone that doesn't have the game getting this problem?

 

I wouldn't mind but it means ALL my steam games are down.

 

A number of things can seem to fix the issue, but the only real fix is to wait, you might get lucky and it'll be done quite quick, you might not.

Also, played the first campaign earlier, I like some of the new features, melee weapons are always fun, but, it really isn't THAT different from the first, which has its pros and cons.

 

Ok I definitely feel bad about killing in the tunnel of love.......

Jesus fracking H Christ this is brutal on expert. The special infected are still fairly easy to despatch if you spot them early (bar the chargers that appear out of nowhere and run half a mile with you untill you both hit something solid), its the almost constant hordes that are making life hard... and almost sapping ALL the enjoyment from some parts of the game (Dead Center mall escalator section in particular made me want to throw my rig in the bin).

We're on Dark Carnival now and it isn't so bad till you get to that damn carousel bit (by which time most of us are limping or b&w). I've heard there's a section in swamp fever that spawns 2 tanks... really looking forward to that. :S

Oh and the grenade launcher is made of epic win, nailing hunters mid-pounce is hilarious and awesome in equal measure, damn shame they don't let you refil the ammo at the stashes.
