    Here she is ... BIG MOMMA !!!

    Check her out her out HERE !!!

    As you can see, she's a modified Swiftech MC462B. The bkue stuff on the side of the copper is the sealant I used called " Hylomar ". n the last pic, I drew a black box around the area of pins that are still there. The outer 3 rows on the mounting hole sides and the outer 2 rows on the other sides were removed for the housing, which is a simple milled out alluminium block with 1/2" hose connectors ...

    If you have any questions - just go ahead and ask :hehe:

    And sorry for crappy page ...

    Cheers

    That is one huge heatsink.::eeek:

    The suface area will be huge It will be interesting to see how well it works as the swiftech performs well as a heatsink. Nice one:D

    I'm also quite anxious to see how the cooler works, but before I install it, I need a new radiator, a shim and some new hose ... being broke doesn't help much at all ... and due to my next job starting in June, you know when I'm going to be able to use this baby :cries:

    I might install it in my current setup, but my rad is really crappy so the results wouldn't be useable, due to the water not being cooled down properly ...

    Cheers

    If you look at the second photo, you can see a top shot of the gaps in the pins, having seen one of these blocks I do not think that there will be a problems with them, but I am definately not a expert in this like the likes of Fixit. Looking at the top shot I think you will find that the inlet is stightly off centre, however, there is a debate going on that having the inlet off centre might actually be better than exactly over the core.:sigh:

    The intake is slightly off center to the bottom left of where the core is. I didn't make channels through the pins because the pins have enough space between them. I'm more or less relying on turbulence and the enormous surface the water encounters. I was however thinking of something like that, but after reading an article TiTch linked here, I decided to leave everything as is and to just pop a lid over the MC. Oh yeah, I forgot : the inner side of the lid, the pins and the inner side of the copper plate are sandblasted for a fine rough surface, enough to cause sufficiant turbulence to ensure the best transfer of heat to the water.

    I would've liked to make photos of the production procedure, but alas my boss in the trainee workshop didn't have a digital camera. My new boss has one, but it was too late, I had already put the block together :sigh:

    True ... but in any case I need a shim. Haddy`s right there. I`m going to risk chipping a bit off the core just to see how she looks on the CPU ... damn, I must 4,50 € somewhere .... I HATE BEING BROKE !

    Cheers
