Hey all, I've been on the look out for a new laptop for a little bit. I've got 1k to spend, and i'll be using the laptop for; general use and 3D animation work. So i'm looking at something fairly well spec'd ideally a geforce card, and pos a i7 cpu. I think im going for a 17" screen as i think the space will be useful. I was initially thinking, i want something that can play games pretty well too, but now im wandering if i should know £200 off and buy a graphics card for my rig (q6600 with 8800gt) and then spend 800 on lappy. Any suggestions?
use the desktop for animation work ? i7 laptops are not cheap especially if you want dedicated GPU thats semi decent. all the ones ive seen are HP and acer crap for 1K or less than thats with low end GPUs
Oops, missed that you are in the UK. Maybe these links can be a somewhat helpful reference. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157113 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146613 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834114803 I have no idea if any of those models are any good.
Thanks for the links. Ye i had alook at the HP's but dont think i fancy one of them. Im considering a alienware m15x if i can for one on ebay for around 1k. Think my price range is in the middle, its more than the standard lappy but less than the high spec ones... The hunt continues.
