:wallbash:Does anybody know where I can get hold of Laptop components, I'm after a DC jack to solder onto the motherboard of a Fujitsu Seimens lifebook. I cant find any places on the net an I'm fed up of looking now, spent 4 hours.

You need to search for "PCB mount DC power socket". The jack is the male connector. Rapid, Maplin, Farnell, Conrad and eBay all sell them.

And they differ in sizes between manufacturers. Take a pair of vernier callipers or whatever you've got to the jack. It's easier to measure. And don't forget there are "long" and "short" jacks.

I've used rolta.co.uk and they've always been excellent. The parts generally only cost £3-4.
