For the keyboard, if its the same as my laptop (and my amiga) then only the end 5mm or so is conductive. I have heard of people extending the cabling with ribbon cable. One problem is problems with crosstalk and such with long lengths. One idea, if you really want the lappy keyboard is to hook the ribbon to the controller from a regular keyboard, then plug that in the PS2 port.
