I'm looking to get a laptop for when I go to university for around £500, and was wondering if anybody had any good suggestions. At the moment I'm thinking of the Samsung R522.

I can vouch for the Samsung NC10, that has also been reviewed here on Bit-tech.
As I am a student it's great just being able to take the laptop with me on lectures (it's the size of a book really. A small one ;) ) and the battery is also, depending on the settings, bragworthy.

Samsung Cheesecake! NC10 is brilliant for mobility, Q320 is balanced, R522 for general and R560/R710 for performance/entertainment, your spoilt for choice

The problem is, 4gb of ram and windows sees just over 3gb as they use 32bit vista. POINTLESS! I would seriously go and have a look at www.novatech.co.uk

Some of their laptops run similar spec to the sammy but with a dedicated 9650gt for instance and a 64bit OS should you wish to opt for it. They have superb build quality, run very nicely out of the box and after sales service is top notch!
