I cant believe i am asking this question but its a simple one i believe.

I have got an Acer Aspire 1690, it has an intel 915 chipset and has a Pentium M 715.

The laptop currently has 512mb of PC-4300, but i would like 1GB, PC-4300 is a rare standard to get hold of, so i was wondering if PC-5300 will work?

Also dose anyone know if this laptop has a jumper to change the FSB? currently at 400mhz, but a bump to 533mhz would be nice.

    Clock gen dosn't work either.

I've never actually heard of PC-4300 before?

But that aside... any SoDimm memory should work. If it happens to be faster than the motherboard can support (i.e. PC-5300), it'll usually just run at the fastest speed the motherboard can handle ;)
