Modding Laptop monitor to vga/dvi/wtfe

    I yanked the monitor from a Dell Inspiron 5100. How do I make it usable by a desktop? I assume it either requires a hardware widget or soldering. Google only gave me threads online from 2001-2004. Any help would be appreciated. The laptop itself is otherwise screwed. Not going to boot so only this and the keyboard are salvagable.

    Can't be done. It needs a signal converter that costs more than a monitor. Do a search on this forum; this has been asked about many times.
